Dr. Amrut Sadachar is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Consumer and Design Sciences at Auburn University, specializing in innovations for the apparel industry. His work merges retailing, sustainability, consumer behavior, and cutting-edge technologies to advance consumer experiences and promote responsible practices in fashion. His research, aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, investigates ways to enhance consumer well-being, foster sustainable consumption, and address environmental challenges in the apparel sector. Dr. Sadachar has contributed extensively to peer-reviewed journals, exploring themes like sustainable consumer behavior, innovations in retail, and the impact of consumer ethics on purchasing decisions. 

In the classroom, Dr. Sadachar is known for his engaging and interdisciplinary approach to teaching. He leads courses across merchandising and retail areas like merchandise planning, retail management, and entrepreneurship in fashion, as well as advanced studies in consumer research. His teaching philosophy emphasizes integrity, active learning, and adaptability, preparing students to thrive in the fast-evolving retail landscape. Dr. Sadachar’s dedication has been recognized through multiple teaching awards, and his curriculum development efforts include integrating industry-relevant insights to empower the next generation of retail innovators.
